Mrs South Africa First Princess, influencer, entrepreneur, and the founder of the Red Wings Project, Olwethu Leshabane wears multiple hats and still finds the time to be an incredible mom and wife.
We recently chatted with the superwoman to find out how she balances motherhood, work, and marriage.
How do you find time to juggle being a mom, wife, and an entrepreneur?
So I have a thing that I tell myself constantly – there are many balls I juggle but the most fragile glass one is family and I can’t drop that ball. If that ball breaks there is no fixing it. I’ll bounce back from any career ‘ball dropping’ or slacking – though I try not to.
In order not to drop the ball in being a mom and wife, I ensure that I have the right support structures in place and communicate my needs and gaps in order to get the correct assistance.

How do you make time for yourself?
I just do it. I have PRIORITIES and TO DO lists.
When I have my priorities sorted, my TO DOs can honestly chill – I delegate them sometimes. In this way, I make time for me – get my nails done, have a glass of champers and just relax a bit.

How has motherhood changed your outlook on life?
Motherhood has given me clarity of vision, and it’s also taught me to be present.
I don’t necessarily think it is motherhood only that has given me this, but allowing myself to grow through it, learn, prioritise and focus on what needs to be focused on. The thing is, motherhood requires you to be fully present when you deal with and communicate with children – but it’s also a choice. A choice on whether to be present or preoccupied.

What advice do you have for moms who have “let themselves go”?
Girl, get you back! And when I say ‘ get you back’ I mean it in the most loving way.
You have obviously evolved and morphed into a butterfly (literally… I mean have you seen my hips post my baby??!) but this does not mean you are not a priority. Put yourself high up on your “To Do” and “Priority List” and every now and again, do something that makes YOU happy.
