While Charlize Theron had the world in stitches when shared popular Afrikaans phrases and slang in a series of recent interviews, South Africans had mixed reactions. Charlize showed off her bi-lingual skills when she was on the hit web series, The Hot Ones on Tuesday, where she used the offensive Afrikaans slang term ‘job ma se…” It wasn’t the first time that the South African born beauty dropped a few slang words, in a Vanity Fair video, the actress, and actor David Oyelewo, relayed definitions to popular Afrikaans slang words such as “babelas.”

Charlize Theron still speaks fluent Afrikaans after years in Hollywood. But your local pastor goes to America for 2 weeks and comes back saying “Gahd” 😥
