Kwaito queen, Nomasonto Maswanganyi AKA Mshoza has died.
The renowned artist died on Thursday morning after a brief illness, said reports.
Mshoza as she was affectionately known by fans had earlier this year survived the coronavirus.
A daily newspaper reported in June that the musician contracted the coronavirus during its peak months in the country.
Unnamed sources were later quoted by, Tshisa live, saying the artist had been struggling with flu-like symptoms.
It was not immediately clear what killed the Kwaito singer but unconfirmed reports suggests that the singer died from complication after an operation.
Mshoza was one of the remaining Kwaito legends in South Africa.
The 37-year-old Kwaito star has had an illustrious career spanning at least two decades.
Mshoza began her music career at the age of 10 and was famous for her hit song Kortez featuring Mzambiya,
She leaves behind two kids, a daughter Pride Mnisi (10) and a son, Junior Mnisi (8).
On the other hand, tributes were pouring in on Thursday, with Boity and other entertainers paying their last respects to the musician.
