Actress and TV personality Khanyi Mbau is starring in the screen adaptation of the award winning novel Happiness is a Four-Letter Word written by the South African author, Cynthia Jele.
Over the years, the hardworking GLAMOURzon has taken on many different projects and roles. She’s an actress, model, talk show host, fashion icon, cover girl and most importantly, a mother.
Happiness is a Four-Letter Word is a screen adaptation of the novel which won in the ‘Film Category’ of the 2011 M-Net Literary Awards, and the award of ‘Best First Book, Africa Region’ at the 2011 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize ceremony. Staring in this major local film is another great accolade Khanyi can add to her lengthy list of achievements.
The film is directed by Thabang Moleya, and Khanyi stars alongside former Jacob’s Cross and Generations actress, Mmabatho Montsho. The film also features Renate Stuurman, who is famous for her roles in the local soapies 7 De Laan and Isidingo.
The romantic drama follows the lives of three best friends living in Johannesburg. The women are on a journey to discover what makes each of them truly happy, and then fight to get it. Sounds like the perfect movie for a girls night out, right? Or even date night with your boo.
