Kelly Rowland has told mothers not to “beat” themselves up about getting back into shape.
The 34-year-old singer has 14-month-old son Titan with her husband Tim Witherspoon and is very open with the fact that it took around a year to get her pre-pregnancy figure back.
Kelly insists mums everywhere need to remind themselves that they are “superheroes” for going through childbirth and should concentrate on caring for their babies not stressing over their bodies.
In an interview with the February issue of Parents magazine, she said: “”It takes about a year to get the weight off. Don’t beat yourself up if it takes even longer … Write on your mirror in lipstick – ‘I had a baby. I’m a superhero.’ Being a mum makes me feel whole.”
Although Kelly is busy being a mum, a musician and an actress, she makes sure she finds time for exercise because a good gym session energises her.
She said: “People think of exercise as tiring, but it actually gives you energy.”
