On Thursday 28 October, news broke via TMZ that Zayn Malik physically attacked Yolanda Hadid, the mother of his partner Gigi Hadid.
According to the report, Yolanda claims that Zayn “struck” her and is considering filing a police report. However, up until now, no police report has been filed.
There are no details on what caused the alleged incident, but according to a statement put out by Zayn, it is implied that Yolanda entered his home which he shares with Gigi while she was away. An argument then arose and the altercation took place.
In the statement, Zayn emphasises that he is a private person and doesn’t want to engage in rumours. He says he doesn’t want to “contest” Yolanda’s claims, however in the report published by TMZ, Zayn says: "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private."

He also implies that Yolanda or someone from the Hadid family leaked the information of this incident to the press.
Now, Gigi Hadid has responded to the allegations. The model’s rep released a statement via E! News that simply asks for privacy during this time. “"Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.”
In further reports, it has now been stated that the couple are no longer together. They have reportedly been broken up for over a month, and are navigating how to co-parent their daughter.
Yolanda Hadid has not commented publicly on the incident.
