Many international celebrities love to visit our beautiful continent on vacation and are also very quick to be ‘the face of’ campaigns for African non-profits. But, Naomi Campbell isn’t just promoting the continent as a holiday destination or charity case, instead, the supermodel is actively championing Africa.
While many celebrities sat at home and probably watched the funeral via CNN, Ms. Campbell flew to South Africa to deliver an incredibly touching speech at the late Winnie Mandela’s send off. Prior to making an emotional speech at Mam Winnie’s funeral, Naomi visited Lagos for the annual Arise Fashion Week, where she actively took part in the shows. At the event, Naomi, a contributing editor at Vogue British, stirred up debate when she called out Vogue for not having an African edition.
While there are many opinions floating around as to whether Vogue Africa is a possibility, we’re daydreaming about what the first issue of Vogue Africa would look like.
Here’s a rough idea of what Naomi’s #AfricanExcellence issue for Vogue Africa would look like…
