The highly-anticipated third season of Bridgerton is just around the corner and stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton are proving their worth as the show's next romantic focus in both style and chemistry.
The actors from the beloved Netflix show were in Bowral, Australia on April 21 to promote the forthcoming season, which will see Coughlan's Penelope Featherington and Newton's Colin Bridgerton friends-to-lovers storyline. Both Newton and Coughlan brought high fashion — and unbeatable charisma — to the red carpet as they posed together holding hands and looking as adorable as ever.
Coughlan, ever the fashion icon that she is, wore a long black gown with intricate beading detail and an off-the-shoulder shape. She wore her blonde hair tucked behind her ears and paired the outfit with black heels.
Newton had a more dressed-down but equally chic outfit, opting for a monochromatic moment with baggy, high-waisted beige trousers, a sheer shirt, and a long open trench coat. In an interview with Australia's The Project TV, the reporter asked how steamy this season is expected to be, jokingly asking if she can watch the show with her grandmother.
“Please don't watch it with your Nan,” Coughlan responded.
“We don't watch it with our Nans,” Newton chimed in.
Coughlan then added that her mom watched some of the show recently and that she “skipped a whole sizeable chunk of it” to avoid the sex scenes.
“But maybe if you give Nan like a Baileys beforehand, then maybe she'd be fine” Coughlan joked, adding that both she and Newton do not watch the show with their families.
Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton will be the featured romance this season, which is set to arrive on Netflix in two parts; the first four episodes will be streaming on May 16, 2024, while the remaining four will arrive on June 13. The show released a trailer for the third season on April 11 and teased Penelope and Colin spending more time together as Penelope tries to find a husband. Read more about Bridgerton season 3 here.
