The stars were out about this weekend as Dolce & Gabbana showcased their latest Alta Moda collection in Venice, Italy.
The city’s iconic St Mark’s Square was the location of the show, and for the collection, the duo were inspired by the serpentine patterns on the floor of St Mark’s Cathedral, as well as the kaleidoscope designs visible in Murano glass.
Alta Moda, which is the Italian equivalent of Haute Couture, is known for being extremely intricate and high-fashion, and usually appeals to an older wearer.
However for this collection, the designers wanted to bring a sense of youth and playfulness to the show. They included celebrity children to walk down the runway in their designs.
Chance, Jessie James and D’Lila Star, daughters of Sean Combs, opened the show, while Emmeline Bale, daughter of Christian Bale, Deva, daughter of Monica Bellucci, and Leni, daughter of Heidi Klum, also made appearances.
The quintessentially classic Italian collection was filled with floral-inspired gowns, flowing kaftans incorporating Venice city scenes, elaborate, colourful headpieces, lavish embroidery, feathers, tulle, sequins, and outstanding silhouettes.
The guests in attendance included Hollywood A-listers and elite (Normani, JLo, Megan Thee Stallion, and Saweetie to name a few), who paid homage to the show’s aesthetic with their own maximalist ensembles.
