Celebrated TV & Radio host Anele Mdoda walked away with yet another coveted title at this year’s South African Radio Awards. She won an award for Best Breakfast Show Presenter for her show The 947 Breakfast Club with Anele. Radio is Anele’s first love; her 947-breakfast show is one of the most popular shows on air. Holding a spot heavily contested by men, Anele runs her show the only way she can, with passion and profound respect for her listeners.
Born and semi-raised in Mthatha, Anele is no stranger to the airwaves, she started her career on campus radio at the University of Pretoria before heading to 947 with her then co-host Grant Nash. The duo left for 5FM doing the 12-3 pm slot before she headed back to 947, where she now holds the reins on the breakfast slot alongside Frankie Du Toit, Cindy Poluta and Thembekile Mrototo.
A revered and award-winning TV host, Anele has also hosted various shows from SA’s Got Talent, POWER of 5, Clash of The Choirs, her own talk shows Real Talk with Anele, her brainchild - The Buzz on Honey TV and E! Entertainment’s Celebrity Game Night among others.
“I am so grateful to my listeners for riding with me every day. Winning awards is not the reason I do what I do, I am passionate about radio, it is more than a job for me but a lifestyle and to be paid for it is the cherry on top.” commented Anele.
Tune into the Breakfast Club with Anele on weekdays from 06:00 to 09:00 only on 947.
