The queen Adele is having her main character moment once again. The songstress dropped her fourth studio album 30 in November, entering a new era focusing on her experience of motherhood, heartbreak and divorce.
Last night, she released the video for her third single off the album, Oh My God, in which she teamed up with stylist Jamie Mizrahi who takes her on a stylish journey in a minimalist black and white film directed by Sam Brown.
In the opening scene, Adele sits in a room devoid of furniture save a few chairs, while she stuns in a transparent pussybow blouse covered in polkadots by designer Harris Reed. She pairs the blouse with a black corset top and empire waist skirt while her hair is parted in the middle and styled in a slicked-back bun.
Gold and pearl drop earrings from the Harris Reed x Missoni collaboration tie the look together with their spherical shapes that bring out the polkdots.
As the camera pans across dancers and performance artists, Adele transitions into a 60s-inspired Louis Vuitton number. The Nicolas Ghesquière-designed brocade gown features a bejeweled white caplet that takes centre stage as she sings in front of a neon ring light. She pairs the look with black leather gloves and chandelier earrings.
For the beauty look, legendary hair stylist Sam McKnight created a standout chignon and makeup artist Anthony Nguyen didn’t skimp on the liquid black eyeliner for a distinctive all-out retro ensemble.
For the grande finale, Adele looks uber glam in a haut couture Vivienne Westwood creation. The red satin gown (the arresting colour seen on Mizrahi’s BTS Instagram shot) included a matching silk tulle bolero. A diamond-dripping Cartier necklace, slicked backed curls, a red lip and matching red nails elevate the entire look as the song ends on a high note.
