GLAMOUR Women In Charge: Meet Kerri-Lee Taylor

She’s the founder of one of my favourite brands that has helped me tremendously when it comes to debloating and hormone health and recently I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the pre+probiotic! We chat to Kerri-Lee Taylor, founder of incredible Kiko Vitals to hear what her take is on Women’s Month!

GLAMOUR: What does Women's Month mean to you?

KERRI-LEE TAYLOR: Women's Month holds immense significance as it provides an opportunity to celebrate, honour, and recognise women's remarkable achievements and contributions throughout history and in contemporary society. It is a powerful reminder of the progress towards gender equality and women's rights. Moreover, Women's Month is a time to raise awareness about women's challenges and advocate for further empowerment and inclusion. It's a chance for all of us to come together, celebrate diversity, and inspire positive change, not just during this Month but throughout the entire year. Women's Month is about acknowledging the strength, resilience, and determination of women while also fostering a collective commitment to creating a more equitable and just world for everyone.

GLAMOUR: Why is it important to celebrate the women of South Africa?

KT: Acknowledging their contributions: Women in South Africa have played pivotal roles in shaping the nation's history, culture, and social fabric. Their contributions in various fields, such as politics, arts, science, business, and education, have been instrumental in the country's progress and development.

Recognising resilience and strength: South African women have demonstrated incredible resilience and strength in the face of adversity, particularly during times of struggle, such as the fight against apartheid. Celebrating them is a way to honour their courage and determination.

Creating awareness about challenges: While celebrating achievements, Women's Month also sheds light on the challenges that women still face, such as gender-based violence, limited access to education or healthcare, and workplace discrimination. This awareness is crucial for addressing these issues effectively.

GLAMOUR: What inspires you to be successful?

KT: As a 33-year-old female entrepreneur, I am inspired to be successful by my passion for significantly impacting women's health and achieving business goals that can change the world. Knowing that my efforts can positively influence women's lives and contribute to a more equitable and healthier society fuels my determination to succeed. My desire for personal growth, learning from challenges, and the intrinsic satisfaction I find in this journey inspire me to strive for success. Additionally, having supportive networks and being driven by the recognition of my achievements further motivates me to achieve greatness in my endeavours.

GLAMOUR: What do you think is the most significant barrier to female success?

KT: Gender inequality, encompassing aspects such as limited access to education, gender wage gap, underrepresentation in leadership roles, gender-based violence, and societal norms, can be considered one of the most pervasive and overarching barriers to female success globally. It influences multiple areas of women's lives and opportunities, hindering their ability to achieve success on equal terms with men.

Addressing this barrier effectively requires comprehensive and coordinated efforts from various stakeholders, including governments, organisations, communities, and individuals, to dismantle discriminatory systems and promote gender equality in all spheres of life.

GLAMOUR: Your biggest motivation?

KT: Ultimately, my entrepreneurial journey is more than just business success; it is about leaving a legacy that transforms the world for the better. Making a substantial difference in women's lives, promoting gender equality in healthcare, and creating a positive ripple effect are at the heart of my motivation in business.

GLAMOUR: What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

KT: Surround yourself with supportive and like-minded individuals who uplift and encourage you. You are the product of the top 5 people you surround yourself with.

GLAMOUR: What’s your message to women in business?

KT: To all the women in business, my message is one of empowerment, encouragement, and support:

Embrace your power and potential as female entrepreneurs and leaders. You possess unique strengths and perspectives that can drive innovation and positive change in the business world. Trust your abilities and believe in yourself, even when faced with challenges or setbacks. Remember that resilience and determination are key to overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals.

Seek and build supportive networks of like-minded individuals who uplift and inspire you. Connect with mentors and role models who can offer guidance and wisdom on your journey. Together, we can create a strong community that empowers women to thrive and break barriers in business.

Don't be afraid to take risks and seize opportunities that align with your vision. Embrace failure as a stepping stone to growth and learning. Celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may seem, and acknowledge your progress.

As you navigate the business world, stay true to your values and lead with integrity. Advocate for gender equality and inclusivity in the workplace, as diversity fosters innovation and success.

Remember, your presence and contributions to business matter significantly. Each step you take has the potential to create a lasting impact, not only for yourself but for future generations of aspiring women in business. Together, we can build a world where women's voices are heard, talents are recognised, and success knows no gender boundaries. Embrace your journey, be bold, and let your light shine brightly as you pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable business landscape. You have the power to make a difference, and the world needs your brilliance and leadership.

GLAMOUR: How are you celebrating Women’s Month?

KT: During Women's Month, I am using my voice to share stories of influential women and raise awareness about the importance of gender equality among my friends, family, and colleagues. I attend events and participate in initiatives focusing on women's issues and achievements.

In addition to celebrating, I contribute to the cause by volunteering my time and skills to support organisations that work towards women's rights and well-being. Women's Month is a significant time for me to show solidarity, support, and appreciation for women's contributions to society and to foster a more inclusive and equitable world for everyone.

We will donate organic period pads to contribute to the fight against period poverty and support women that don't have access to primary sanitary care.

GLAMOUR: Your favourite beauty moment OR The best advice you’ve received to date and from who?

KT: Beauty is subjective, and what matters most is how you feel about yourself. Embrace your individuality and focus on nurturing self-confidence and self-love. When you feel good about yourself, that inner beauty will naturally radiate outward and positively impact how others perceive you.
