Meet your new favourite fashion philosopher - Bobo Matjila

Self-proclaimed fashion philosopher, Bobo Matjila, wears many hats as an influencer, photographer and talk show host in New York City. She uses her platforms to spark conversations about race, creativity, self-awareness and wellness on her social media platforms and her talk show ‘Behind The Highlight Reel.' Since her digital beginnings in fashion, she has worked with global brands including Coach, Sephora, L’Occitane, Nordstrom, Scotch & Soda, Nike, Netflix and Macy’s in a wide range of digital content capabilities. She has amassed a following of over 100k+ on her social media channels, and she’s best known for her conversational platforms and ability to self-photograph her own content.

Born in South Africa and raised in international territories like Switzerland and the United States, Matjila provides a unique, global, perspective on what it means to be a black, millennial woman. She'll be sharing her philosophies this Saturday, December 1st 2018, when she will partner with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Nabu.Org, Global Citizen, and Kenya Airways to Celebrate Ubuntu in South Africa as a part of Mandela @ 100 Festival week.

An open conversation about race, the ways in which whiteness affects the creative process, as well as the importance of cultural preservation through music and visuals will be had between musical Sensations Young Paris (US-Congo), Darkie Fiction (South Africa), along with award-winning Photographer Trevor Stuurman (South Africa), and will be moderated by Bobo Matjila (US-South Africa).
