With Christmas only days away, and if you’re like me and leave shopping for the last minute, I’ve curated a wish list with items not only for myself but for loved ones too. Christmas is about giving but remember you’re absolutely allowed to spoil yourself too. Happy Shopping:)
Fitness
Keeping fit is one of my goals during the festive season and having fitness gear that allows me to reach my optimum level and feeling comfortable while doing it is essential. Below are a few of my must haves:
Under Armour Women's UA Iso-Chill 200 Laser T-Shirt, is technical gear that keeps me dry and cool which is non-negotiable when I’m running in summer. The T-shirt has lightweight IsoChill fabric and is so sheer it feels cloudlike, and it wicks sweat away from the body and dries super-fast, so it feels cool to the touch. As it’s not too tight or loose but stretchy, it doesn’t restrict my movement.
Puma Run XX Nitro Women’s shoe is designed with the woman’s foot shape in mind, heel, instep and arch. Puma’s NITRO Foam midsole strikes an impressive balance between durable and lightweight, and it also has a firm density rim Puma calls RUNGUIDE, which helps to align the foot.
Local brand N3YH is a sustainable brand with fabric made from bio-based bamboo that is cooling, smooth and breathable and provides the ultimate comfort for the rapidly approaching hot summer nights. Choose from their range of cute workout fits.
SHADES:
Shades for summer are essential as sunblock and equally important hiding a heavy night of partying. Below are a few favourites to see you through the season.
Miu Miu’s latest range is available now and my current obsession is the green with gold lettering on the side that would pair perfectly with a sexy night out look. I know I know technically you only wear shades during the day but if you’re feeling extra, wear them when you’re out on the town.
I recently came across Sunglass brand Maui Jim which has exciting options to choose from. One of my favourite frames is the Kou which is a modern cat eye in the colour pink. Pair this with a cute summer dress and sneakers and you’re good to go.
SWIMWEAR
Since most of our days will be spent on the beach, the perfect swimsuit is a must, especially one that can be worn from the beach to the bar.
My fave must have is a one piece swimsuit. Scotch and Soda has a chic black one with ruching and a buckle detail at the waist. If you prefer colour, Poetry has an equally stunning classic one piece in green. Throw on a pair of cute shorts and heels and you’re ready to go or just add a beautiful sarong. Old Khaki has a beautiful abstract-print black option.
BAGS:
A bag is an easy accessory to update and change up your look. Top of my list, a basket bag. These are perfect for brunch with the girls or going to the beach. They are versatile enough to carry all your essentials while complementing your outfit. A cute pink Scotch and Soda one is the winner for me.
DRESS:
I know short cute summer dresses are de rigueur but I must admit to loving maxi dresses this season. They are chic, sexy and flattering on any body type and extremely comfortable. Guess has a beautiful option with a cross back with great support around the bust area, which means no need for a bra. I would wear this with a beautiful hat and shades when wine tasting at one of our exquisite wine farms in Franschhoek or Stellenbosch.
