Say what?! Kylie Jenner’s fans are donating money to make her a billionaire

Everybody knows and loves the Kardashian/Jenner clan, and aside from swatching new lipsticks on her Snapchat story daily, the youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, has just made history. Like, actual history.

The 20-year-old has just made Forbes’ list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women (coming in at number 27) thanks to her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics.

Since she launched it just two years ago (can you believe it was that recent?), she has sold over $630million (£475million) worth of cosmetics – that is A LOT of matte liquid lipsticks.

That also means she is worth more than sister, Kim Kardashian, and even Beyoncé who are valued at around $350million, which isn’t too shabby either.

wow. i can’t believe I’m posting my very own @forbes cover. thank you for this article and the recognition. I’m so blessed to do what i love everyday. i couldn’t have dreamt this up! #KylieCosmetics

According to  Forbes, if Jenner carries on growing Kylie Cosmetics at the rate she has, she will become the youngest self-made billionaire in HISTORY, overtaking Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire at 23. You go, girl.

But Kylie still has a little way to go and needs to make a casual $100m before she beats the Facebook founder. And it seems her fans are so desperate to help their idol reach her goal that they’ve set up a GoFundMe page called ‘Let’s Get Kylie Jenner to a Billion.’

The page reads: “Kylie Jenner was on the cover of Forbes Magazine today for having a net worth of 900 million dollars, which is heartbreaking. I don’t want to live in a world where Kylie Jenner doesn’t have a billion dollars. WE MUST RAISE 100 MILLION DOLLARS TO HELP HER GET TO A BILLION, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD, THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.”

This is not a drill, people.

So far, 131 people have donated to the cause and raised £1,853 towards Kylie’s bank balance.

Is this real life?

Forbes defines a self-made woman as “anyone who didn’t inherit any part of their money.” And while technically this is true and Kylie has built a cosmetics empire alone, it definitely helped that she’s spent her life in the limelight as part of one of the most well-known families in America.

According to the profile, “Basically, all Jenner does to make all that money is leveraged her social media following.” The following being 110 million followers on Instagram alone, which, in part, will have been down to her family’s status.

Kylie has become Forbes’ latest cover star and said in an Instagram post: “It’s incredible to be recognised for something I’m so passionate about, and I’m really grateful for that. I’ve always loved makeup and worked really hard to bring the first lip kit to market.”

“Connecting with my fans and creating products that excited them has been an incredible process. I’ve learned so much along the way and I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams.”

Yaaas, girl power!
