Celebrities are writing heartfelt messages of support to Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato’s fans are still reeling from news of her reported overdose, which happened Tuesday morning (July 24), according to both  People  and  TMZ. Lovato’s rep told  People  the singer is “awake and with her family” and that some of the information being reported is incorrect. “[Lovato’s loved ones] respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now,” the rep added.

Social media is currently overflowing with support for Lovato. The hashtags #StayStrongDemi and #ImConfidentInDemi quickly popped up on Twitter, the latter presumably a nod to Lovato’s 2015 album  Confident. Accompanied with these hashtags have been extremely heartfelt messages, including some from celebrities like Lady Gaga, Lili Reinhart, and Ellen DeGeneres.

“We should all wrap our arms of love around Demi Lovato,” Gaga posted to Twitter. “I am so happy you’re alive. Thank God. If I know my monsters as well as I believe I do, we all wish you self-compassion and inner peace. And may you receive the love so many have for you. #ImConfidentInDemi Demi, I love you.”

“Praying for @ddlovato and her health,” Reinhart wrote. “When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate. 💔”

Stars close to Lovato also sent out words of support, too; all three of the Jonas brothers—who have been friends with Lovato since the inception of her career—have tweeted, as has Selena Gomez’s mom (Mandy Teefey), Brad Paisley, and Ruby Rose. Below, just a few of the messages celebrities have posted about Lovato:

Hi so staying sober is really fucking hard and if you have anything other than supportive things to say about those struggling with addiction/alcoholism, you can go ahead and unfollow.

— Tommy Dorfman (@tommydorfman) July 24, 2018

Let me clarify: this tweet is a response to ppl shaming @ddlovato. I am speaking as someone with 5+ years of sobriety who knows that I could relapse at any moment. I do a lot of work to make this less likely, but nothing in this life is guaranteed . We only have today. 💕🌈
