WITS University to appoint first black female chancellor

Black excellence is coming through strong this week with the recent word of WITS’ impending appointment of their first black female Chancellor.

At the moment there is a battle between Dr. Judy Dlamini and Dr. Anele Mngadi for the role. The two powerful women have been shortlisted, and are set to replace former Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke, whose term comes to an end in November.

Dlamini, is a medical doctor, and the Executive Chairperson and Founder of the Mbekani Group.

Mngadi is an expert financial strategist who holds a MCom, an MBA and two doctorates (in finance and in public policy).

We can’t wait to see which of the women WITS University will select, but right now we’re just stoked that women (particularly women of colour) are getting the opportunities and respect that they so rightly deserve.
