This Cape Town youth festival is going to be lit!

The Cava Youth Festival takes place at the Gugulethu Sports Complex on June 23 from 9 am (registration) to start at 10 am. The CAVA movement is dedicated to removing the stigma and prejudice around HIV, TB and various other health issues, promoting access to health services, and getting youth to regularly test for HIV, STIs and TB.

A host of DJs and social media personalities will provide the backdrop of beats, and there will even be a dance-off competition where prizes can be won. There will also be a rapid chess tournament hosted by African Chess Lounge open to everyone, as well as a live graffiti workshop, a martial arts and self-defense demonstration, pop-up barbershop and pop-up cinema.

There will of course also be a Testing Zone where there will be screening for diabetes, high blood, TB, and HIV status and there will be opportunities to be informed about healthy lifestyles. Counseling will also be offered.
