Nose art Is Instagram’s latest surprisingly adorable makeup trend

When it comes to what you can do with makeup, the sky’s the limit. The instructions on the product are only a suggestion, and half the fun of it is getting creative — which is a good word to describe a new trend taking over Instagram: nose makeup art. As noted by  Allure, people are posting photos of their noses covered in hearts, flowers, fruit, and other colourful designs. And it looks totally gorgeous.

The designs are typically created with eyeshadow or eyeliner because there’s no rule saying these products can only go on your eyes. “The nose is such a cute canvas and can change an entire look,” Ashlee Summer, a makeup artist who makes nose art herself, told  Allure. “Even though it’s the centre of the face, it gets neglected a lot when it comes to makeup.” She added that “anyone with any nose size or shape can pull it off.”

There are endless ways to pull off this look, too. Some people leave the rest of their faces devoid of makeup so that the nose design stands out, while others do the rest of their face to match the nose design. And if you don’t feel comfortable creating a design yourself, you can use a makeup stamp like the Milk Makeup Tattoo Stamp. For inspiration, here’s some of the coolest nose art we’ve seen so far…and we dare you to come up with your own.
