The entire West family has, at last, made its Instagram debut. On Wednesday night (April 4), Kim Kardashian West shared the first-ever family portrait with Kanye West, North, Saint, and little Chicago all in the same frame. Before this momentous social media occasion, fans had seen glimpses of the Wests’ three-month-old daughter on Kim’s Instagram, but this is the first time she’s been pictured posing with her mom, dad, and older siblings.
In the photo, which was taken on a very sunny Easter Sunday, the West family members are standing outside in what appears to be a grassy lawn or yard, with a tall hedge providing the leafy backdrop. And each West has adopted a completely different facial expression: Kim smizes (or squints) at the camera next to Kanye, who’s doing his signature grumpy dad face, while Chicago lies asleep in Kim’s arms. In front of them, Saint appears to be distracted by something off to the side, and North is the only one actually smiling, even throwing up a peace sign.

Although everyone looks amazing—albeit with slightly too much sun in their eyes—the adorable family portrait was actually a lot more difficult to set up than it looks. “I don’t think you really understand how hard it is to take a good family pic,” Kim confessed in the caption. “This was all we got before all three kids started crying. I think I cried too.”
In a follow-up tweet, Kim elaborated a bit more on what was so hard about the photo. “One hand holding the baby and the other hand grabbing the back of Saint’s shirt because he kept running away lol,” she said, although she did manage to catch a close-up of Saint himself in one outtake on Instagram.

Although Kim didn’t share much else from Easter 2018, she did write a throwback blog post in honour of the holiday. “Easter has always been such a special time for me and my family. Growing up, I loved going to visit my grandparents in Palm Springs and doing Easter egg hunts with Kourt,” she shared, along with an album’s worth of pics in which little Kim and little Kourtney themselves are making it hard for the photographer to catch a photo. Apparently, it runs in the family.
