While this season’s blockbuster shows may have boasted the likes of Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Joan Smalls and even Elle Fanning on their runways, there was one very notable absence. Kendall Jenner’s career has skyrocketed over the past few years, following her introduction to modelling back in 2009. She showed everyone who doubted her as ‘just a reality TV personality’ that she was a seriously talented model and has seen great success. But where was she during Fashion Month?
Since hitting her catwalk peak in 2016, the young model has been appearing on fewer and fewer runways each season. Spring/Summer 2018 saw her walk for just Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Alexander Wang and Tom Ford.
She walked her last runway for DSquared2 in January for Milan men’s fashion week, so is there a reason behind her absence? Kris Jenner might have revealed the reason in a teaser from Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The video shows Kris on the phone to Kendall, who called her about an “emergency”, which it’s revealed is a panic attack, while she’s in LA. Kris explains,
“She doesn’t feel well, she’s not sure what it is…”
She then says to the camera,
“Kendall struggles from anxiety, and I think she has so much going on that she gets herself really worked up. Kendall gets the most anxious during fashion week so when she’s travelling a lot. And Milan’s coming up and trying to juggle it all is overwhelming.”
