Kylie Jenner revealed on Instagram on Super Bowl Sunday that she and boyfriend Travis Scott welcomed a baby girl on February 1. Their announcement ended months of rumours and speculation about Kylie’s maybe-pregnancy and baby plans. Seriously, the 20-year-old managed to keep her pregnancy essentially a secret for roughly six months, which is quite a feat considering the tabloids’ obsession with her family. The mystery is out now, though: Ms Jenner is officially a mom.
But because social media users have no chill, they’ve already moved onto the next mystery: the name of Kylie’s baby. (Can’t we just breathe for five seconds before scraping the inter-webs for more information?! Apparently not.) The dominant theory right now is that baby Jenner-Scott’s name is Butterfly because her nursery is covered in butterflies, Kylie frequently wears butterfly jewellery, and Kylie and Travis have matching butterfly tattoos. Admittedly, this evidence is pretty solid, but we should know by now not to make any assumptions about the Kardashian-Jenners until they say something.
That being said, a photo Kris Jenner posted to Instagram on February 2—the day after Kylie gave birth—does build on this whole “butterfly” theory. The family matriarch posted a photo of Kylie’s new lip shades, which are called “Posie K,” and captioned it, “So cute! One of my favourite @kyliecosmetics shades!! Posie K is launching as a limited edition trio set to celebrate the second anniversary.” Check it out for yourself, below:

This might not seem like anything, but fans did some digging and “Posie K” might actually be a hint about the baby’s name. Several commenters pointed out that Posie could be short for Mariposa, which means “butterfly” in Spanish. So it’s possible Kylie’s baby’s name is actually “Mariposa” or “Posie”; both have a butterfly “theme,” after all, so they play into the aforementioned fan theory.

Sure, fans might be reading too much into this—but isn’t that part of the fun? This type of speculation is harmless and doesn’t hurt anyone, so let us obsess about potential butterfly names in peace. It’ll make the actual name, which is probably something like Julie, TBH, that much more surprising.
