Meghan Markle’s bachelorette party sounds like the perfect night out

It’s January 19, which means we’re exactly five months away from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding on May  19, 2018. Royal wedding number two is going to be here before you know it. And we still don’t know that many details. Will Meghan and Prince Harry have a banana wedding cake? Is Meghan’s mother walking her down the aisle? Or her father? Will the  Suits cast attend and perform a skit at the reception? As millennials say, St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Chapel is about to be lit.

But before that, Meghan will have a bachelorette party — except she’s not calling it that. According to a new report from  Us Weekly, Meghan is throwing a prewedding party, but it won’t be a traditional bachelorette bash. “Meghan will be having a party but won’t be calling it her ‘bachelorette,'” a source tells the magazine. “Think low-key, think somewhere out of London, good food and drink, a little music. It won’t be wild.”

It also will have a mix of male and female attendees — yet another deviation from the typical bachelorette format. “Expect to see the usual faces, with [her] best friends Markus Anderson, Lindsay Jill Roth, and Jessica Mulroney taking top seats at the table,” another insider told  Us Weekly.

Meghan’s desire to throw a less-traditional get-together shouldn’t surprise you. She’s been breaking royal protocol — in the most refreshing way possible — ever since she emerged onto the royal scene. Everything from her hair to her  holiday plans has been against type for the royal family. Why would her bachelorette party be any different?
