November 13, 2017

The 2017 MTV EMAs took place at London’s Wembley Arena on Sunday 12 November with a star-studded line-up.

The show, which was hosted by Rita Ora, saw the likes of Eminem, Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato and French Montana take to the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans and viewers at home. Here are all the most memorable moments from the night…

Eminem opening the show

Eminem was the performer all the stars were most excited to watch and he did not disappoint. The rap legend opened the show with a passionate performance of his comeback single Walk On Water and although there was no surprise appearance by his collaborator Beyonce (we could only dream) it was epic from start to finish.

Camila Cabello’s show-stopping performance

Camila Cabello stole the show with an AH-MAZING performance of her number one hit, ‘Havana’. Everything from her ruffled red jumpsuit and sassy choreography to the stage set-up (she had a projected swimming pool and a crew of synchronized swimmers) was flawless. And to top it all off, the ex- Fifth Harmony star won the Best Pop Artist award beating the likes of Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.

French Montana being hijacked by stage crashers

No one can deny that French Montana and Swae Lee’s hit collaboration Unforgettable is one of (if not the) biggest song of 2017. So when they took to the stage at Wembley to performed it, naturally, the crowd went wild – some more than others. Halfway through, two members of the audience managed to gatecrash the stage and dance along with the stars. Talk about being Unforgettable

Bono singing Stormzy’s ‘Blinded by your grace Pt. 2’

Legendary rock band U2 won the MTV Global Icon award and during their acceptance speech, lead singer Bono surprised the audience (and Stormzy) when he began singing the chorus to the rapper’s latest single ‘Blinded by your grace Part 2’ – who knew U2 were Stormzy fans? Stormzy didn’t…

The awkward moment between Jared Leto & by MC Grindah

While Jared Leto was being interviewed by host Rita Ora, Kurupt FM star MC Grindah jokingly said to the actor: ‘I’ve always wanted to meet Jay Leno,’ before laughing to himself. However, it seems his joke wasn’t appreciated. In fact, things got super awkward when Leto responded, saying: “Sorry, what was your name again?” – BRB, we’re just cringing into our pillows.
