Christina Aguilera paid a beautiful tribute to Whitney Houston at the AMAs

Christina Aguilera paid an emotional tribute to Whitney Houston at Sunday night’s American Music Awards as she performed her own rendition of the late singer’s music from Hollywood hit,  The Bodyguard.

Aguilera, who was introduced to the stage by Oscar-winner Viola Davis, put on a show-stopping performance of Houston’s hit songs from the 1992 film soundtrack. She opened with ‘I will always love you’ before moving onto ‘I have nothing’ and ‘Run to you’ as scenes from the iconic movie played in the background.

The performance received praise from viewers at home as well as stars in the audience including fellow performer, P!nk. “Christina f—ing killed it tonight for one of our favourite singers ever. This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina’s talent,” the ‘What about us’ singer wrote on Twitter.

The tweet came after a clip of P!nk’s facial expression while watching Aguilera’s performance circulated the internet and many fans assumed she didn’t look impressed. However, as P!nk’s tweet suggests, they couldn’t have been more wrong.
