Ah, ’tis the season — and no, we don’t mean “pumpkin spice” just yet. But it’s the time of year where a new class of Victoria’s Secret Angels gets its wings.
We may be a few months away from the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but preparations are well underway for the most extravagant, glittery catwalk of them all (which, rumour has it, will take place in Shanghai, China). We know this not only because of the influx of street-style photos coming out of a nondescript city block suspiciously close to the lingerie giant’s New York HQ, but also because the models confirmed to walk the show have flooded our Instagram feeds with their big casting news — and the excitement is palpable.
I can’t explain what I’m feeling now, I have no words to describe how happy I am. I just wanted to thank everyone who always support me and believe in me and in my work… I’m so grateful that my best friend @giizeleoliveira will be with me in the happiest moment of our lives! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much @ed_razek @10magazine @monica.mitro @johndavidpfeiffer @victoriassecret I can’t wait to see you guys in #VSFS2017 🌹 #blessed #🇧🇷 #🍀

It takes a while to understand what a great key failure is. And once you get that, everything becomes more beautiful in any area of your life. I have a LONG way of learning! But I just wanted this process to be part of who I really am, so I set that goal. I worked not only my body but my mind to live the previous days and the casting day itself with a different perspective. Had up and downs on nerve wrecking (of course), but I allowed myself to feel the real excitement it brings and a lot less insecurities. It wasn’t that easy cause I’m emotional and when you walk in there your whole perfect plan kind of falls apart! I remember my legs shaking while walking in my first VS casting. But I wanted to leave that room knowing that I gave all I could and I would be able to find peace within any answer. And I left it with tears in my eyes but of joy! What a great experience. I wanted this YES, but I worked for it and I am proud of myself, for getting it AND for how I went through it. Why are we so scared to be proud of ourselves? CELEBRATE YOURSELF. Celebrate your progress. All I want to say with this is try to turn your failures around because they’re only teaching us, work on your self love and DO NOT GIVE UP. Nowadays we managed to made it a hard job to LOVE ourselves but don’t stop working on it. Authenticity is something that will never stop shining. And whoever this reaches, here’s a message for you that I truly believe: you’re incredibly valuable, you have so much to give to yourself and others. Every single one of us. Do not give up. Realize your power. I take this with me forever so Thank You @victoriassecret @10magazine @ed_razek @monica.mitro @johndavidpfeiffer ❤️for the opportunity to go through it again and for the 2 past ones, and being able to learn along the way, and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! for the incredible experience that is coming our way! I CAN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE THAT I AM WALKING THE VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW AGAIN. DON’T KNOW HOW TO EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL I AM. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔐❤️🔐 also big thank you to everyone involved in my progress and life.. you know who you are, I feel incredibly lucky. Gracias ESPAÑA ❤️🇪🇸❤️🇪🇸❤️

VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW 2017!! 💋💋💋 To say I’m grateful, blessed, lucky and excited is honestly an understatement and doesn’t nearly capture how I am feeling. I wish I could explain to everyone how much it really means to have the honor of walking this show. And I know that maybe it doesn’t feel like that for everyone, but for me it really is a life changer. Having hope is one of the most important things we can have. Because if you have hope that the world can be better, that you can be better, than you really can create the change necessary for that. When hope, determination and passion collide it really is an unstoppable thing. This can be applied to any aspect of life really, even something as simple as hoping and dreaming to book this amazing show; hundreds of girls every year hope for this to happen and therefore create the dream and the change necessary to make this happen. Step by step, it may not be immediate gratification, or success at first, but I truly believe that if you never give up on something you want, you can get it. I am so incredibly humbled and honored to be amongst one of the models who will walk in this years VSFS! I couldn’t even believe walking my first one was even possible much less having 5 years in a row!!!! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to the people who have supported me and believed in me. We hear “no” a lot in this industry and getting a “yes” for this one makes all of that hard work and determination worth it! Never give up on hope, never give up on your dreams! 💕💕💕 @ed_razek @johndavidpfeiffer @10magazine @monica.mitro @luizmattos1906 @imgmodels

Congratulations to all the girls who made it to the @victoriasecret VSFS 2017. After my 3rd VSFS casting, all I can say is it’s always Very Challenging and Exciting to be part of the cast. I did not get it, but learned a lot about myself as a model and most importantly I feel very lucky to have been casted these last 3 years by @johndavidpfeiffer @monica.mitro @10magazine @ed_razek. Thank you for believing in me, I won’t give up! #UntilNextTime “Ce n’est que partie remise!”

I grew up playing Tennis and Soccer. At an early age I knew that I was going to become a professional athlete. The commitment, sacrifices, determination and effort required, came naturally and I loved it. l was bought up to always challenge my mental and physical boundaries. Soccer training was an opportunity to lose myself in the zone. Turning up and kicking that ball and kicking it hard (lol). Failing then learning, losing then learning. Always with both eyes on WINNING. I remember the feeling of playing a muddy game of soccer outside in freezing and dark, rain pelting down whipping at my face. The overwhelming drive to score, do my best, win was triggered by the factors that made it even harder to do so. Giving everything to get the ball in the back of the net and celebrate with my team mates. It was as if my life depended on it… Boy did it feel good when we won. When we lost I brushed myself off, went out and worked harder for the next game. I was 8 at the time. It was hard to juggle everything and in the end I chose school and modeling. At 14 I saw a Video of Adriana Lima, her hard work ethic inspired me. From that moment my goal was to make the VSFS at age 18. When I found out I’d booked that show it was the happiest moment of my life. The hard work paid off. That feeling of elation was identical to winning those tennis matches and soccer games as a kid, only much more intense and powerful. I realised then how much I’d missed that feeling. These days, I train like a professional athlete. Wake up at the crack of dawn to box and jump rope. Mentally, it’s no different to the training that 8 year old Kelly had to endure to be the best soccer or tennis player that she could be. It’s not rocket science – it’s all about prep. The harder you work for something, the more you appreciate the outcome. THANK YOU, THANK YOU John, Ed, Monica and Sophia for recognising my hard work and commitment by giving me the opportunity to walk the #VSFashionShow for the 4th time!! The competition is fierce, and there are so many amazing girls out there who work just as hard as me to achieve this goal. I’m humbled, honored and blessed to be a part of the show once again❤️😍😘
