Helen Mirren has discussed her opinion on the current state of American politics in her cover interview with Allure.
The 72-year-old, who stunned on the cover of the magazine in a white shirt and red lipstick, revealed she was not the biggest fan of Ivanka Trump.
As an outspoken feminist, Helen criticised Ivanka’s efforts in championing rights for women – especially when it came to her latest book:
“[Ivanka] talks a good game, but there’s no substance. Her book is so ignorant about how the majority of women live, talking about ‘Make time for yourself to have a massage.’ Puh-lease.”
Interestingly, Helen did express slightly more confidence in the Trump family Matriarch, First Lady Melania:
“You look at old Mel there, and she is one of the most powerful women in the world because she could take him down.”
Referring to the moment Melania batted her husband’s hand away(which quickly went viral), Helen acknowledged that she “almost did that [take Donald Trump down] with the hand.”
Helen openly criticised the current U.S. administration, commenting that watching Trump take office is like “watching a car crash.”
