Chris Pratt & Anna Faris split after 8 years. It’s official, love is dead.

As if Mondays don’t suck already, now our day is being truly ruined with the news that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are legally separating after eight years.

The couple, who met in 2007 while filming the romantic comedy  Take Me Home Tonight, said attempts to save their relationship had failed. “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed,” Pratt wrote in a post on Facebook on Sunday.

The 38-year-old action star and 40-year-old comedy actress got married in 2009 and they have a son named Jack, aged 4. “Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” the statement said.

The statement added that the two had “cherished” their time together and “continue to have the deepest respect for one another”.

We honestly thought this couple was one of the strongest in Hollywood, and hate the fact that they are splitting.

Last year the couple dealt with cheating rumours, and afterwards, Faris opened up about their marriage in a podcast interview with Isla Fisher. She admitted that they “grappled with a lot of the ideas of being a public couple.”

The House Bunny star explained that their relationship was tested after reports of Pratt cheating surfaced in 2015, “when there were some tabloid rumours about strain in our relationship.”

She said that she tried to ignore it, but “I just remember feeling so hurt in a way that bothered me.”

“I take pride in how great my relationship is with Chris, but having said that, of course, in this crazy world where he’s off doing movies and I’m in L.A. raising our child, of course, I’m going to feel vulnerable, like any normal human would,” she added.

She admitted that even though she knew the rumours weren’t true, “It made me feel incredibly insecure.”

The Internet concludes that this is the worst celebrity breakup news this year:
