The only 5 rules you need to give your bridesmaids

Being a bridesmaid can be an equal mix of work and play. While your bridesmaids are eager to be there for you in any way that they can, they often don’t know where to start or even what you need the most help with. Stop them from guessing what they will need to do and when or even what they  should do to keep you happy with this list of five key rules to give your bridesmaids before your wedding adventure kicks off.

1 Be on time

Remember that old saying: “being on time is late and being early is being on time”? Well, this definitely applies during the wedding adventure. Ask your bridesmaids to try to arrive at events like your bridal shower or rehearsal dinner a little bit early, so that they can help out with any setup tasks, or just be there for you in case you need a  last-minute vent session before the event begins.

2 Say yes to the dress

While it’s always a good idea to get your bridesmaids’ opinion on the dress you pick out for them, once it’s ordered and on its way, ask that they support whatever style you’ve chosen and not spread around any negative energy about the bridesmaids’ dresses. You don’t want to make anyone else feel self-conscious or uncomfortable in their dress — stick to the old paradigm: if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

3 Help get the party started

Ask your fellow bridesmaids to try to keep the dance floor occupied as much as possible, whether that means encouraging other guests to get out there and bust a move or doing it themselves!

4 Set a good example

That means they may have to limit their alcohol intake to a two drink maximum and make sure their cell phones are put away in their purse during the key wedding moments.

5 Have the time of your life

Make sure they know that the key to having a good time as a bridesmaid is just having fun. Let them know you want them to  enjoy the party and use this experience as an excuse to have one of their best nights ever!
