Style watchers had plenty of inspiration over the weekend, with the SAMA red carpet offering up a feast of lust-worthy showstoppers. From K Naomi to Bonang, this year’s ceremony was a parade of fashion candy from start to finish.
Icy blue is a dangerous colour, as it’s usually either too Disney princess cutesy, or too Polo club preppy. K Naomi redeemed this baby blue hue at the SAMAs however, accessorising it with a Casio wristwatch for a retro twist on a beloved fairytale.
Mother-daughter pair Pearl Thusi and Thandolwethu Mokoena stole hearts as they shimmered, shone and sparkled together, with Pearl’s dress striking the perfect balance between barely-there and dazzling GLAMOUR.

Bonang Matheba proved that there’s no better way to turn heads than in scarlet. With a structured bustier, one shoulder on show, and loosely styled hair, Bonang was the doyenne of red carpet elegance.
Masechaba Ndlovu fit the sartorial bill on Saturday night in a flowing black gown with beaded epaulettes that accentuated her silhouette. The epitome of fuss-free elegance, she chose to forego jewellery, adorning herself with a classic red lip instead.
LootLove looked utterly cool in a glossy black leather dress with Louboutinesque red lining. She vamped it up even further with a collection of statement rings and earrings.
Kim Jayde brought forth the queen inside with her royal blue sheath dress, balancing stern and sexy with a high neck and barely-there sheer panels.
Nomzamo Mbatha looked cool and collected in a fitted white dress with on-trend ruffles. Colour-popping stilettos added a kick of fashion fun.
Nomuzi Mabena went for a rich and elaborate look. Her chilli-red dress was a creation of pure fantasy, combining a skirt made of tiered ruffles and a bejewelled bodice.
Sinazo Yolwa counterbalanced a daring thigh split with full sleeves and a bold print, making her the master of understated composure.
