3 Avant-garde beauty looks you can actually pull off

Fashion wasn’t the only thing pushing the envelope on the Met Gala red carpet – beauty had its own spotlight too. Here are our picks for the night’s most striking beauty looks:

1 Rihanna’s blush-pink contour

RiRi pulls out the stops just by walking down the street, so we knew she would bring it at this year’s Met and then some. Giving us major  Memoirs of a Geisha vibes, she rocked a high bun, long fringe and insane blush! If the rumours are true about her giving us a taste of what’s to come in her new cosmetics range, consider us officially excited.

2 Supermodel liner

Gigi Hadid and Candice Swanepoel were fierce and feline. Gigi went for a graphic cat eye, creating a double line that joined at the end and extended outward for drama. Her South African counterpart, Candice Swanepoel, went full glamazon, covering her entire eyelid with  black liner tapering into a heavy wing, for a powerful, unforgettable look.

3 Lily’s vampy lips

Lily Collins was almost unrecognisable in her full femme fatale glam. With deep purple lips, fair skin and a cropped fringe, she looked as if she’d just stepped off the set of a vampire movie. She amped up her lashes with mascara and went for a thick and prominent brow to accentuate her look.
