TLC announce their final album!

TLC’s fifth and final album is to be released on June 30.

The duo – Tionne Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas – announced in January 2015 that they were financing the record through a Kickstarter campaign and set a target of $150,000 [£120,540].

They reached more than the total in just two days, with fans donating $430,255 [£345,752.92].

However, the ‘No Scrubs’ hitmakers’ manager Bill Diggins has since revealed they are set to drop the album in June and will be making a music video this month.

He said on the fundraising page: “The album date is firm, June 30 is the release of the new TLC album that you made happen.

“Tionne and Chilli have been working night and day to hit this date. The video and a photo shoot is on April 18, 19 and 20.”

The duo are still undecided on the name of their new album and they are asking their fans for suggestions.

The upcoming record will be their first studio LP since the death of founding member Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in 2002.

Her death ended the group but the remaining singers are reformed and already have a sold out gig in at London’s Koko on May 9th, despite the album not being released yet.

It comes after Ed Sheeran was forced to add the writers of ‘No Scrubs’ to the credits of his smash hit ‘Shape of You’ after the similarities in sound between his song and the 1999 hit were pointed out.

Bill said: “It was a blessed month for us and we finally feel a little wind at our back.”
