Following the launch of her beautiful spring/summer 16/17 collection on Spree Boutique, GLAMOUR caught up with Tamara Cherie to chat about her stunning designs and career highlights.
What was the inspiration behind your latest collection?
It’s a relaxed collection inspired by SA’s coastal regions. Think easy-to-wear silhouettes, luxurious lightweight fabrics and dusty pastel hues for a romantic feel.
Which three items from the collection can’t you live without this summer?
The Aurelia dress, the Manhattan silk bomber and the Daisy mohair dress.
Party season is coming up – what should GLAMOURzons be wearing?
Metallic, metallic, metallic! Go for a classic item in a silk metallic fabric for an understated, luxe look.
What made you want to be a fashion designer?
I always knew I wanted to be in the creative field, but at 16, I fell in love with fashion and the process of being able to create a tangible product from my sketches.
What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
There have been so many incredible milestones so far, such as interning at Vivienne Westwood in London, but being stocked on Spree Boutique is definitely at the top of the list.
What’s exciting you right now?
I’m currently sourcing new fabrics for the next collection, which always makes me excited!
