Kerry Washington is still our girl crush. At the Emmy Awards, she looked incredible: that baby bump, that hair, that makeup! She gets an A+ on all counts! But her nails got us really excited. Here’s how you can get her polish like a pro.
You’ll need:
- Black nail polish
- Small beads
- Nail glue
Step 1: Find your shape
Kerry went for an oval shape with rounded tips to mirror the half-moon design of the beads. If your nails are long, try the popular stiletto shape, which is pointier on the tips. The shorter your nails, the more square your shape can be.
Step 2: Paint
Always start with a base coat. Allow to dry then apply two coats of black polish like Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in Black To The Routes (R54.95). Apply a topcoat for gloss and longevity.
Step 3: Add the beads
If you can’t find gold beads, go for a contrasting colour. Or paint white beads gold with a shimmering nail polish. TRY Nail Candi Beads (R50 for a pack). Dot each bead with nail glue and gently press onto your nail bed with a tweezer. Let them dry. Voilà! Red carpet ready nails!
