A run of EPIC proportions!

On Sunday 24 July, 150 athletes hit the streets of Johannesburg to try out the new Nike LunarEpic Flyknit in an exhilarating 10km run. The fun, spirited atmosphere was tangible as the community of Nike+ Run Club (NRC) runners took to the streets of the bustling city to challenge and inspire each other to take their training to the next level.

Kitted out in hot new running gear, the participants got to experience the Nike LunarEpic Flyknit – a shoe which has been designed to keep a runner’s foot, ankle and lower leg working as a single unit, resulting in natural, fluid movements. Featuring a mid-height collar and Nike Flywire cables, the shoes provide precise support and a close fit. Thanks to new technologies, the shoe is perfectly cushioned and flexible in all the right places. This range is incredibly versatile, making it ideal for runners tackling a distance workout, progression run or recovery run.

NRC, one of the many Nike+ membership benefits, offers free weekly running and training sessions to encourage athletes, from beginner to marathoner, to run their first, most fun, fastest and fittest mile with the support of Nike coaches, trainers and pacers. These include the Nike store in Rosebank Mall on Tuesdays, Nike Football Training Centre in Soweto on Wednesdays and Braamfontein on Thursdays.

Want to participate in the Nike+ Run Club? All you have to do is sign up to become a Nike+ Member. Not only does this give you access to the NRC, but you also get to enjoy everything else Nike has to offer: online shopping, creating customised sneakers and apparel through NikeiD and have 24/7 access to the NRC and NTC apps. To sign up and get moving, visit  www.nike.com/joburg.
