Katy Perry is launching a shoe line

Katy Perry is set to launch her first shoe collection.

The 30-year-old raven-haired beauty has teamed up with Global Brands Group for her first foray into the fashion world as she believes they were the best fit for her “artistic ideas” that will enable her to bring affordable fashionable footwear to a wide audience across the globe.

Speaking to WWD.com, the ‘Rise’ hitmaker said: “It’s been a creative goal of mine to be a real contributor in the affordable fashion space. Launching a footwear collection felt like a natural first step for me.

“After years of investigating and researching partnerships to find the right fit for the debut of my line, I found that Global Brands most resonated with my artistic ideas.

“They understand my vision, my eye for detail, and have the international reach and resources to bring my canvas of ideas to life.”

Katy could barely contain her excitement about her new venture and took to her Twitter account to announce the news that her shoe collection would hit retailers next year.

She posted: “Get ready for my & coming to stores Spring 2017! (sic).”

Katy will no doubt have a number of bold editions in her collection as she is well known for her outlandish style, and Jason Rabin, president of Global Brands, believes it is her originality that will make the range a worldwide success.

He said: “In addition to being one of the biggest music icons of today, Katy Perry is an incredibly talented and creative individual, whose style and confidence speak to women around the world.”

The company are used to working with celebrities, having previously collaborated with Jennifer Lopez, Sean John and David Beckham.

Meanwhile, although it is Katy’s first work in fashion, she has had experience within cosmetics and fragrance.

She launched her first cosmetics line in April, Katy Kat for the CoverGirl collection, and her first fragrance way back in 2010 with Purr by Katy Perry.
