10 (Wearable) looks we’re dying to steal from Haute Couture Fashion Week

When you hear the words ‘Haute Couture’, your next thought likely isn’t ‘ready-to-wear’. But Haute Couture Fashion Week is proof that the high fashion world has something even for someone with the safest style. Here are just some of the dresses we’ll be dreaming about tonight.

The show: Giambattista Valli

The look: Maroon tulle dress.

Why we love it: We’re super into the sheer drama of the dress. It’s not exactly something you’d find hanging on a rack, but a girl can dream…

The show: J Mendel

The look: Yellow beaded fitted dress.

Why we love it: The colour is bold, the beading is exquisite, and it would turn every head in a room.

The show: Alexandre Vauthier

The look: Strapless beaded chiffon dress.

Why we love it:  This dress is incredibly sexy, but in a totally classy way. The intricate beaded bodice looks stunning when contrasted with the sheer chiffon bottom.

The show: Giorgio Armani Prive

The look: Black velvet dress with a slit and tie detail.

Why we love it: The material is unconventional, and the shape is original. You can definitely be sexy while totally covered, and this dress proves it.

The show: Elie Saab

The look: Black dress with a high neckline, black, white and gold beading and a full skirt.

Why we love it: Its clear African inspiration, of course!

The show: Atelier Versace

The look: Blush pink with pleat detailing.

Why we love it: The colours are stunning and the shape makes it look like a work of actual art. (And just look at the shoes!)

The show: Schiaparelli

The look: Voluminous and printed.

Why we love it: The print is incredible and the shape is really interesting. Together, they make something really beautiful.

The show: Maison Margiela

The look: White empire-style dress with dramatic red sleeve.

Why we love it: The dress itself is soft and pretty, but the strong shoulder detail makes a statement.

The show: Christian Dior

The look: Black beaded V-neck dress.

Why we love it: Its exquisite beading and cinched waist with A-line skirt. The woman who wears this dress will  not  be messed with.

The show: Georges Chakra

The look: Pastel pink chiffon dress.

Why we love it: This dress is taking us back to the days of princesses and fairytales. The word ‘pretty’ is the only way to describe it. And, yes, we want it.
