Miglio Designer Jewellery has opened a concept store in Belvedere Square, Claremont!

Miglio is a small, luxury jewellery brand which is proudly manufactured in Cape Town. Their jewellery is fun, easy and glamorous – the jewellery to live in!

Not only is it beautiful, their jewellery is also sustainable in more ways than one. Each piece of jewellery is crafted using recycled brass and pewter, is then dipped in solid silver and burnished and buffed to create the signature Miglio patina. They employ artisans and craftspeople from the local community which provides countless job opportunities and they enrich their employees by following the motto of internal promotions over external hires and seeks to create a bright and friendly working environment.

Their new store is clean, contemporary and fresh. The Miglio team wants women to touch, to feel, to try on and to style their jewellery within the area of their shop. They also offer free Wi-Fi in-store, so you can share your experience on social media! Each jewellery item has a story card that is packaged with each purchase and shows women how to get the most out of their Miglio jewellery.

Make sure you visit their fabulous new store soon! For more information, visit www.miglio.com.

Introducing Cotton On’s June 2016 collection!

This new urban street-style collection helps your wardrobe shift to top winter must-haves, with a focus on knitwear that includes key trend detailing across parka jackets, tunic knits and sleeveless options.

Cotton On prides itself on offering the most on-point designs, in line with the main winter fashion trends of the moment, taking cue from both the streets and the catwalks.

A highlight on both the elite and social running calendar, the annual Durban SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge incorporating a 5km fun run/walk is simply one of the races that has to be done – or else serious FOMO could result.

This year the SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge which takes place on Sunday, June 5, changes venue to the Growthpoint Kings Park outer fields. The new venue allows both the 10km and 5km competitors to run along the beachfront. Here participants can soak in the beautiful views of the city and the long sandy beaches set against exquisite blue winter skies.

To enter online, go to  www.sparwomensrace.co.za/durban-home. Entry forms are also available in SPAR stores.

For sixteen years the National Antiques & Decorative Arts Faire has set the trend in collecting… and others have followed. When it comes to breaking new ground the NAADA Faire delivers – showcasing everything from classical antiques to specialist dealers; from ‘mantiques’ to ‘back to the future’ collectables; from vintage to retro – in a venue that accommodates specialist pavilions, vintage and classic car platforms, a stylish refreshment area and an opening night for the who’s who of collecting.

Celebrating its 16th successful year as the biggest and most dynamic collecting exhibition, visitors to the annual National Antiques & Decorative Arts Faire, which takes place from the 3 – 5th June 2016 at the Sandton Convention Centre, are seduced by the variety of antiques, collectables, art, classic cars and decorative arts. It’s the place to find that statement piece that will be the talking point of your home, that rare piece to add to your collection or just something special that catches your eye.

One of the must-attend functions on the Johannesburg social and investment calendar is the Gala Cocktail Opening Night of the National Antiques Faire which attracts over 500 of the who’s who of the collecting world, top business people, the elite and celebrities who gather to mingle and be the first to reserve the best pieces in antiques, artworks and collectables.

The fair is open from 10am – 6pm daily and the entrance fee is R100. For more information visit www.naada.co.za.

Burn The Floor

, the show that revolutionised the image of dance, returns to South Africa, its “home away from home”, for the fourth time: performing at the Sibaya Casino in Durban from June 8 to 19.

The original concept of Burn The Floor grew from an electric display of ballroom and Latin dancing at Sir Elton John’s 50th birthday party in London, March 1997. There, producer Harley Medcalf, discovered the ballroom dance world and its charismatic people, with their deep intensity, commitment, discipline, burning passion and total love of the ballroom art form.

Burn The Floor today remains focused on its ballroom origins, but this new edition to be seen in South Africa, the “gloriously sinful” Burn The Floor: Fire in The Ballroom, choreographed and directed by Peta Roby, has more surprises in store and promises to blow the roof off the theatre! It has the same rebellious spirit as the previous editions, though more daring with a theatrical rock angle – including music from Santana, Janis Joplin, Christine Aguilera and Led Zeppelin.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket. Visit www.computicket.com, call 0861 915 8000 or purchase your tickets at any Checkers, Shoprite or CheckersHyper stores.

Worn by Rihanna and Pharell’s wife, Helen Lasichanh’s, G-Star brings the latest denim trend in street style apparel!

20 years after releasing the world’s first 3D denim, G-Star has reworked the company’s blueprint. Introducing the 5620 Pouch pant for women: a fun, new update on the iconic 3D style.

G-Star’s Pouch pant is a playful approach to innovation: with a front pocket and a cool, slouchy fit that proves function doesn’t have to sacrifice style. The hands-free central pocket offers easy access and convenience, carrying things that would normally tie up the hands. The thinking behind the updated style is rooted in G-Star’s workwear philosophy of “liberating the hands of the worker”. The Pouch pant gives the green light to women to go hands-free, essentially eliminate the need for a handbag everywhere you go.

Replacing the Elwood’s fifth pocket, the centrally placed clutch-like pouch delivers the summer’s ultimate festival denim. In addition to being a must-have piece for festival-goers, the Pouch pant translates G-Star’s workwear philosophy into a practical garment for busy metropolitan lives.

Available in a range of washes, from white to raw to Japanese selvedge denim, the Pouch pant also comes in a summer-ready short version, in lightweight raw denim. The G-Star 5620 Pouch pant is available instore and online now.
