There’s no denying that going on a summer vacay in South Africa is fantastic, but our beautiful country has so much to offer in winter too! This year, ditch your usual hibernation routine (Series. Eat. Sleep. Repeat) for one of these spectacular winter adventures:

1 Rock climbing in the Cederberg

Looking for some exhilarating, outdoor adventure? Then the Cederberg mountains are where you need to be this winter! The mountain range is renowned for some of the best rock climbing South Africa has to offer. Due to the extreme heat in summer, this is an activity best experienced during winter.

If you love the ocean and marine animals, then Hermanus is the place for you. The fishing town is South Africa’s prime spot for watching the southern right whales’ migration to the Southern Cape. You can only witness this wonderful sight during the winter months, so be sure to go between June and September.
