There’s now a Tinder for friendships

Ever wished you could swipe for mates rather than dates on Tinder? Well, there’s now an app for that.

Hey! Vina launched last week to help women find meaningful new female friendships. Like Tinder it uses your location and Facebook friend data to find you potential matches, but it also brings in other compatibility elements, asking you to fill out a personality quiz.

Asking things like whether you prefer morning coffees or after-work wines, and if you’re more of a stay in and Netflix and chill, or a dance til dawn type, it filters down your matches to ensure you share the same taste in friend dates.

Just like on Tinder, you swipe for matches, but tapping into our love for gaming our way to meet-ups, it adds on quizzes (who’s your sitcom BFF?) to help refine the pool of pals you can choose from even further.

If you get a match, the app sends an introduction email, to help you both avoid any awkward “who should make the first move?” situations. From there it’s up to you to chat and take your blossoming friendship into the real world.

Given that making friends after university is never quite as easy, there’s definitely a gap in the app store for Hey! Vina.

It’s currently only available in the US, but you can download it and join a wait list to get involved. Hold tight people.
