Why Jacob Tremblay’s Critics’ Choice speech was the cutest thing ever

Jacob Tremblay melted hearts at the Critics’ Choice Awards when he referred to his win as the “best day of his life.”

The nine-year-old actor reduced people to tears at the glamorous ceremony in Santa Monica last night (17.01.16) when he waltzed on stage to give his adorable acceptance speech as his picked up his gong for Best Young Actor/Actress thanks to his turn in ‘Room’.

The pint-sized star, who had to stand on a black box but still struggled to reach the microphone, said as he climbed on stage: “This is super cool. It’s the best day of my life.

“I know where to put this – right on the shelf beside my Millennium Falcon.”

The young actor then went on to thank the people who voted to give him the award, as well as praised the talent he was up against and, subsequently, beat in the category.

He said: “I first want to say thank you to all the critics who voted for me. It must be a super hard vote because of all of the other great actors in this category.”

But his sweet speech didn’t stop there as he also paid tribute to the cast and crew of his movie ‘Room’, in which he plays Jack, a five year old who is held captive with his mother, for contributing to his win.

He added: “I think that us working together made this movie come true and this award doesn’t just go to me for that, it goes to all of you guys as well.”

Jacob finished off by thanking his parents for their support throughout his so-far short career.

He concluded: “I just want to thank my parents. I love them very much.”
