Thando Thabethe takes over 10am to 1pm on 5FM!
The station that brings together youthful South Africans through the power of music will be kicking off the new year with a new daytime voice. As of Monday 18th January 2016 5FM’s Thando Thabethe will present 10am to 1pm Monday to Friday.
5FM Station Manager Justine Cullinan says, “Thando has proved her ability to tell great stories on radio and engage with 5FM’s unique community both as a contributor on The Roger Goode Show and as host of Beats by Demand on Sundays. We are delighted that she will be stepping into Poppy’s shoes in the new year.”
Thando Thabethe started her radio career at UJFM in 2008, before being poached by YFM working at the station for three years. After working at YFM for three years, Thando got her break at 5FM, hosting the Beats By Demand weekends show and being a contributor on The Roger Goode Show.
Thando says, “I am beyond excited and honoured to host a daytime show on 5FM starting next year. I’ve worked in the radio environment for almost seven years and hosting my own show on 5FM has always been a goal of mine. I plan to make it my best work yet.”
Thando Thabethe is a successful actress, radio DJ, Club DJ, MC, Brand Ambassador and Voice Over artist. You can watch her on Generations Legacy every evening on SABC 1 at 8pm.
