How to strobe like a pro

Remember when bronzing was the most difficult part to your makeup routine? How we’ve grown! We’ve lived through contouring since then, and now we’re faced with strobing.

Yep, strobing – as in the lights you find in clubs. Odd as it sounds, it’s actually spot on. Strobing is the art of defining your face with only highlights. Think contour, but without the muddy bronzer. This means that not only will your have to apply fewer products, you’ll also only need one product to do the same thing that needed two or three before.

It easier and, in our opinion, a much more natural look. All you need to do is enhance the areas of your face where light naturally hits it. This means illuminating your temples, cheekbones and the ridge of your nose. You can also add a touch to your forehead, but avoid this if you are at all prone to oiliness in this area.

You can use whichever texture products you feel comfortable with – from powder to liquid. Just don’t over do it, or you’ll look like a bauble.

Colour wise, fair skin should stick close to their skin tone, while darker skinned girls can head into the gold and copper arenas.
