Cara says Kate saved her and picked her up

Sometimes you just need a good friend to come to the rescue – and that’s what happened when Kate Moss gave some motherly advice to Cara Delevingne.

In the early days of Cara’s career – when her face was EVERYWHERE – she couldn’t stop the whirlwind of her crazy life.

In a conversation at the Women in the World summit, she said: “I had no concept of saying no to anyone, ever. After a while I got sick and got a condition called psoriasis. I felt disconnected from myself, but my agency simply shoved me into a doctor’s surgery, where I got cortisone shots, but – in reality – I wanted someone to stop me, but nobody did,” she revealed at the Women in the World held in London this weekend.

“I felt like I never deserved any of it, that I was living somebody else’s dream. This point is just about being able to have a mirror up at yourself and really look inside at what you need. And what happened is that I eventually said ‘no’ and to take a break – to the advice of Kate Moss who kind of picked me up off the floor passed out and covered in paint.”

FACT: Everyone needs a Mossy in their life.

Ultimately, Cara Delevingne told host Rupert Everett that “it’s about finding people around you who have your best interest at heart.”

She also took the time to read out a poem which she wrote a year ago when she was feeling depressed.

Cara opened up about her long battle with depression, stating, “I wanted the world to swallow me up, and nothing seemed better to me than death.”
