Sarah Hyland opted for “natural” and “confident” hair at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards last night (16.08.15).
The ‘Modern Family’ star matched braided locks with a stunning buttercream yellow crop top and shorts from Christian Siriano for the event, which her hairstylist Ryan Richman said she “loved”.
He quipped: “She looked stunning and was smiling and confident. I think she loved it!”
Ryan told People magazine that to make the look he sectioned a deep side parting on Sarah’s damp hair – to be braided – and added volume before blow drying her shorter locks with a round brush.
He added:”A good prep product is so important. I love to prep the hair with something that will hold my style in place for a long time, but leave the hair feeling natural and healthy.”
But the hairdresser admitted that the key to creating an impressive look for a celebrity is to collaborate with all style departments before the event.
He said: “It’s always important that I collaborate with the stylist and makeup artist to ensure everything works together before making a final decision about hair. Even then, things can change last minute.”
Meanwhile Sarah, 24, took an unexpected tumble as she walked on stage with ‘Pitch Perfect’ actor Skylar Astin to present Ellen DeGeneres with the Teen Choice Comedian Award, but quickly recovered.
She told the audience: “I do that sometimes, guys. I’m awkward like that, you know.”
