Sunny skies, ocean breezes and sea views made this wedding absolutely breathtaking.
“Seven years ago I met my husband at the Granger Bay Hotel School in Mouille Point, Cape Town where we were both studying,” says Olivia. What began as a close friendship led to a relationship of their dreams. When Daen proposed, Olivia was quick to say “yes” – since the day they met, Olivia always knew there was something special about him!
Olivia and Daen knew they wanted to tie the knot in a place that was special to them, so they decided to get married exactly where they met. “The Granger Bay Hotel School is such a hidden treasure and a beautiful setting in Cape Town,” says Olivia, “This place really has endless memories for us.” Olivia describes herself as a real perfectionist, as so she decided not to hire a wedding planner and rather organise everything herself!
“I wanted a very simple looking dress with just a touch of sparkle,” says Olivia, “And because I’ve been blessed with an hourglass figure, a ‘mermaid’ style dress was the perfect pick!” While hunting for her dream dress, Olivia happened to stumble across across the Meylea Bridal website. She came across her beautiful gown on the site, and the minute she set her eyes on it she was sold!
“I can’t say it was easy choosing a wedding palette!” says Olivia, “My husband suggested teal and we eventually settled on that as our main colour, and grey as the accent colour.” One of the main attractions at the wedding was definitely the gorgeous cake – the triple tiered delicacy was topped with beautiful fondant designs and words that are meaningful to the couple.
“The ceremony took place on the helipad overlooking the ocean; with sunny skies and the ocean breeze it was absolutely breathtaking,” said Olivia. They spent the special evening dancing and celebrating with the people they love. Great food, wine and company made the event a magical experience for the beautiful couple.
