Bonang Matheba is in love and we couldn’t be happier for her. We can finally put all speculation to rest, the Queen has found her King!
All roads led to the International Convention Centre in Durban this past weekend for the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAS) and our girl B was front and centre for the awards as she was nominated for a Personality of the year award which she ended up losing to newly appointed The Daily Show host, comedian Trevor Noah.

When Bonang walked the red carpet with her Nigerian musician beau, D’Banj; we got excited just to spot the two love birds walking hand in hand ever so regally. What we definitely weren’t ready for was that huge kiss D’Banj planted on his beautiful lady just before he went to accept his MAMA evolution award which is ” a new category honouring established artists who have made an indelible mark on African and global music culture, taken African music to new territories around the world, pushed the boundaries of creativity, and shaped the soundscape of contemporary Africa” according to MTV.com.
Bonang sent her boo a congratulatory tweet that read “The King @iamdbanj!!! So so so proud of you!!”. Awww! Twitter has even dubbed the pair Bonanj LOL! You know its a official when a couple gets Jayonced, ladies and gents introducing you to Africa’s newest power couple; Bonang and D’banj!
