Jean-ious! Your denim is about to get one smart upgrade

Brace yourself for some seriously futuristic fashion as Google and Levi’s come together to bring us “wearable technology”! Both of these two companies have been pivotal in transforming the way we live – Google has brought us the most incredible digital advancements, while Levi’s brought us the wardrobe staple that changed the way we dress.

In their collaboration, these two iconic brands will be merging fashion and technology to integrate a new material known as “Jacquard” into Levi’s apparel. According to the announcement at Google I/O last week, Jacquard is “a textile created by Google that is woven with microfibers that have digital sensing capabilities, making it conceivable that we may soon be able to interact with our devices via our clothing.“

Levi’s and Google will be working together for the remainder of the year to incorporate this new textile into a yet to be determined piece of apparel which will be available for purchase in 2016 (we’re just speculating here, but we think it’ll be jeans).

If this news is making the techie in you buzz with excitement, you can find out more about this cool project on Levi’s website!
