How to weatherproof your hair… if you live in CT

Windswept, drenched locks? Um, no thanks! Shielding your hair from the elements is key when it comes to stormy Cape-like weather. Here are the tips and products you need to kick those winter woes:

1 Avoid waxes and gels

Torrential downpours can dampen even the best styling plans, and these products leave locks sticky if they come into contact with water.

2 Opt for lightweight products

Protect your strands from drizzle by opting for a lightweight styling spray that will coat strands with smoothing proteins and leave behind zero residue. And for natural hair, work a light oil through your locks.

3 Caught in the rain?

Use the stormy weather to your styling advantage by working a little finishing cream into damp locks. Make a side part and create a simple bun, pinning it just above the nape of your neck for an elegant look. Or sick it right back and work the ‘wet-look’ trend.
