The 22nd amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala dinner was hosted at the exquisite Eden Roc Hotel in Cap d’Antibes in Cannes, France last night. amfAR is a foundation for AIDS research and it was great to see numerous influential celebrities, models, designers, actors and film makers attended the event in support of this great cause.
As attendees arrived, it was clear that the evening would be one to remember as the fashion that was displayed on red carpet was magnificent. Model and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kendall Jenner, stunned on the red carpet as she arrived wearing a purple Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein spaghetti strap crop-top like bodice with a matching gorgeous flowing skirt. She looked like the belle of the ball and its clear to see why she is sort after stars in the industry as she really has been holding her own in terms of her fashion choices throughout the Cannes Film Festival.
Fellow model and a friend of Kendall’s, California beauty, Gigi Hadid looked amazing in her white turtle neck dress with the a large rectangular cut out on the chest and it had the trending a sky high slit that we’ve been seeing a lot on red carpets lately. The 20 year old Maybelline New York Ambassador overall pulled off her dress by Tom Ford effortlessly! Another model dressed in Tom Ford was Taylor Swifts best friend Karlie Kloss, She wore a beautiful ivory sequin embellished high neck gown that showed some serious side boob and paired it with strappy sandals by Jimmy Choo.
Sports Illustrated model Chanel Iman looked flawless in her Zuhair Murad Couture dress, she couldn’t have made a better choice. The 24 year old Victoria Secret model’s dress was a long sleeve nude silk tulle gown that had white flower appliqué and had her hair up in an up do. 19 year old Model Hailey Baldwin was seen a few days before the dinner wearing a foot brace as she apparently had injured her foot. She wore a romantic princess like Gabriela Cadena dress that had beaded sequinned bodice and a flowing white tulle and she was in heels. We really must commend the TopShop model for attending the event and supporting this important cause even while she had an injury. What a trooper! Russian model Irina Shayk shut down the red carpet when she arrived wearing a green Atelier Versace dress. The sheer intricate bead work on the the dress is what really set it apart from the rest, her long and lean figure was showed off tastefully even though it was quite a revealing dress. Its safe to say Bradley Cooper has one hell of a hot girlfriend!
Doutzen Kroes looked radiant in a bright red Maison Margiela ‘Artisinal’ column dress, the simplicity of the design and the drama of the colour choice definitely stayed true to the Margiela aesthetic. Woolworths model Joan Smalls arrived in a Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy black dress with matching black platform strap heels. The dress had off the shoulder cut out sleeves which we’re seeing a lot of on red carpets these days and Joan’s dress also had high slit which has also been a trending favourite for many in Cannes. Brazilian bombshell Adriana Lima was also on point with the sky high slit trend as she arrived on the in her Chopard black cut out dress and Louboutin heels. The Victoria Secret model admitted she “felt like a movie star” and she truly looked like star as she strutted into the event with her dark hair and dark eyes and those enviable lips.
